MIT Innovation Leadership Bootcamp – Informa Connect

In collaboration with MIT Bootcamps and United Arab Emirates University, the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE) organized the first MIT Innovation Leadership Bootcamp in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the region.

From February to April 2021, 120 Emirati and Arab students and young professionals participated in the 10-week blended bootcamp and were challenged to design their own innovative and sustainable ventures to solve the youth unemployment challenge in the Arab region.

Over the course of the bootcamp, participants were trained by MIT coaches and experts from around the world and tackled modules that focused on entrepreneurial creativity, customer discovery, problem definition, problem solving, and venture design, with the intention of helping them create and pitch their team solutions.

The bootcamp concluded with a Demo Day where the 22 teams pitched their ventures to judges from the private and public sector, including the UAE’s Minister of Education and Cultural Advisor to the President of the UAE.
