Meet Ali Al Abed, an AGF scholar from Lebanon who pursued a MS in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut​.

“Reflecting on the progress I have made since receiving the STEM scholarship for my master’s, I am overwhelmed with gratitude to both Al Ghurair Foundation and AUB. It served as a strong foundation for my scientific research career. The prestige of the AGFE scholarship on my CV played a significant role in being accepted at a world-class research institution such as McGill University, where I am now continuing my academic journey.”​

Ali graduated from the American University of Beirut in 2020, and currently he is pursuing his PhD at McGill University in Canada. During his first year, Ali has attended several international conferences in Netherlands and Sweden to expand his knowledge on iron metal fuels.​

“I would love to introduce the research work we are doing at McGill and share the experiences gained during my PhD with my alma mater at AUB and fellow AGFE scholars.”​
