FAQs - TechUp Explorer & Expert
The Nomu Al Ghurair TechUp is a program funded by the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation. This program is designed to equip UAE citizens (Emirati youth aged 18-39) with the most advanced technology skills, focusing on high-demand AI and Generative AI skills. In addition to technical training, the program also offers career readiness support.
Participants can choose between two learning paths: TechUp Explorer or TechUp Expert, depending on their goals and experience.
- TechUp Explorer is a 12+ hour introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), covering foundational AI concepts. Learners can also expand their knowledge with optional modules on digital project management, freelancing, and financial sustainability to prepare for careers in the digital economy.
- TechUp Expert is fully funded, and available to eligible Emiratis seeking advanced knowledge in AI and Generative AI. Applicants must meet the program’s selection and prerequisite criteria and pass an application and assessment on Udacity’s platform. This track features a 3-4 month Nanodegree in AI and Generative AI for Business Leaders, where learners complete self-paced technical courses. Participants also receive career support through webinars, events, and coaching.
Both TechUp Explorer and TechUp Expert are offered free of charge. There are no fees associated with joining any phase of the Nomu Al Ghurair – TechUp program.
This program is open to UAE citizens (Emirati youth aged 18-35) interested in enhancing their skills. No technical background is required, although basic computer skills, such as file management and internet navigation, are helpful. The program provides all the necessary instruction to succeed.
Learners will experience a structured pathway tailored to their skill level, with opportunities to apply their knowledge through practical projects, career coaching, and events designed to support personal and professional growth.
TechUp Explorer: In this track, you’ll dive into the foundational concepts of your chosen subject, gaining key skills that are crucial for the fundamentals of AI and understanding the basics of jobs in the digital world. The best part? There are NO prerequisites to get started—no prior knowledge or experience required, as we’ll cover all the basics with you! With just one hour of study per day, you can complete the first phase in under a month. If you dedicate two hours daily, you’ll finish in less than two weeks! It’s all in your hands. After completing this phase, you’ll have the chance to validate your knowledge with a certification assessment, and upon passing, you’ll earn a Certificate of Completion from Udacity.
TechUp Expert: This track offers a 3-4 month technical Nanodegree program, designed as a self-paced learning journey requiring 10-15 hours of study per week. You’ll also benefit from online guided sessions led by a Session Lead and Career Coaches. At the end of this journey, you’ll earn two technical certificates of completion. Beyond the coursework, you’ll receive career support through coaching, career-focused projects, webinars, and in-person events, giving you the chance to network and connect with companies across the UAE.
Throughout the program, learners can earn certifications at key milestones. Upon completing the Explorer track, participants will receive a verified Certificate of Completion from Udacity. Those who engage in additional content related to employment will also earn badges along the way.
In the Expert track, learners will receive two Nanodegree Graduation Certificates upon successfully completing all required projects. Additionally, badges will be awarded for attending webinars, events, and other important achievements throughout the program.
The program is delivered entirely in English, with the option to view content with Arabic subtitles. All project submissions must be in English. Program mentors and career coaches are bilingual in Arabic and English, allowing participants to strengthen their English skills while receiving guidance in their native language when needed.
